Batik - A traditional Indonesian Fabric made with technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique My hometown, Solo is one of the center of Batik making but honestly I never really like Batik itself - for me, it was out dated and old. Until... 2007, I got a job offer at Parang Kencana, one of Indonesia's Prestigious Batik Retailer. Initially, my job is designing the clothes and from there I started to learn about the fabric itself, witnessed the craftsmanship and how it goes from the batik motif designer (the amazing, Mrs. Lani 😢 RIP) to the Batik maker. How each one of he fabric drawn by hand resulting in unique pieces that can't be processed by machine. From then, I fall in love with Batik "What we learned with pleasure, We never forget" - Alfred Mercier Here's some of m early work with Parang Kencana
